Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of mortality and disability worldwide, with atherosclerotic CVD (ASCVD) constituting the brunt of the disease. Commensurate with the extent of its burden, ASCVD has also resulted in significant productivity loss in the Asia Pacific region including Indonesia. Immediate and comprehensive action needs to be taken, to limit the economic and health impact of ASCVD. This white paper will explore the unmet needs in CVD, as well as strategies to address the growing disease burden and avoid a future public health crisis.
